How I tested these providers
I ignored the marketing entirely. Every provider got the same treatment: buy the smallest paid plan, pull real IPs, run them through an antidetect browser with user:pass auth, and measure. Fraud score on Scamalytics and IP2Location. Detection on Pixelscan. ASN, ISP classification, and hosted-domain count on IPinfo and BrowserLeaks. DNS leak checks on every exit. Blacklist status on MXToolbox. Then a bulk run — 400 addresses where I could get them — to see what the pool actually holds versus what the pricing page claims.
Beyond the numbers I looked at whether the thing is usable. Can you export a list as txt without clicking through six menus? Does geo targeting go down to city or state, or does it lie? Scamalytics – 9/100, IP2Location – 0/100 with Anonymous Proxy = No. APIVoid – 0/79 detections, every Anonymous Connection flag False. Pixelscan – no proxy detected, fingerprint consistent. But the pool isn’t sterile, the traffic counter burned through my quota twice for no clear reason, and there’s zero independent track record or IP-sourcing transparency. For budget scraping, Google SERP checks, and account work through antidetect – solid value if speed matters more than pool purity. Skip it for email, EU compliance, and high-volume jobs that need every IP clean.

IPPeak handed me their premium residential line, not the regular one, so I judged it like premium. Traffic was free, the verdict wasn’t – logs and screenshots are saved for every number below.

Main IP 73.229.115.43 – IPinfo shows AS7922 Comcast, AS Type isp, hosted domains 0. Scamalytics 6/100 Low Risk, APIVoid 0/79, Whoer 100% anonymity, Pixelscan found neither proxy nor masking and matched IP geo to browser geo. WebRTC clean on all three ICE points, DNS clean – all 20 resolvers inside Comcast, nothing spilling onto Google or Cloudflare. MXToolbox listed it on Spamhaus ZEN and Abusix, which is the PBL every home cable subscriber sits in. Speed is the weak spot: 7.05 Mbps on Speedtest, and a 100-proxy run gave average 8.27 down, median 7.54, min 0.53, max 42. - Spamhaus ZEN + Abusix, the IP sits on the PBL – no email straight through the proxy;
- IP2Location calls the address a Residential Proxy with fraud score 45/100 and disagrees with Scamalytics;
- Speed spread inside one pool runs from 0.53 to 42 Mbps – no consistency at all;
- Infrastructure hides behind global.rrp.apexae.top, and the brand is young – barely a footprint in r/proxies.
Floppydata sells residential at $1/Gb and I fully expected a disguised VPS farm with a faked PTR. Got real Comcast Houston instead. Tested only residential, only US – mobile and datacenter are still sitting on my balance untouched. The dashboard has two things I haven’t seen elsewhere: an IP rotation monitor and a site tester that runs your target URL through their pool before you pay.

- One exit node died 30 minutes into testing – had to regenerate the session;

MangoProxy sells residential, ISP, datacenter and mobile, claiming 90M+ IPs across 200+ locations from a service roughly two years old. I got 2 Gb of residential traffic and pointed it at the US. The generator has something I haven’t run into elsewhere – you set a target URL right inside it, the service pings your list for liveness and speed, and one button pulls out the best rows. Costs you traffic, but saves the export-test-reimport loop.
Tests:
Main address 174.48.226.150 – AS7922 Comcast, AS Type isp, hostname c-174-48-226-150.hsd1.fl.comcast.net, hosted domains 0. Scamalytics 15/100 Low Risk, APIVoid 0 detections out of 79, Whoer 100% anonymity, Pixelscan fingerprint consistent with no proxy and no masking detected. A second address from the pool came back with IP2Location showing Anonymous Proxy No and fraud score 0 – part of the pool is still unknown to the detectors. DNS clean, 22 resolvers all inside Comcast, nothing spilling to Google or Cloudflare. MXToolbox flagged 1 of 60 – Spamhaus ZEN, the PBL every home cable subscriber sits in. The one real technical problem: WebRTC pushed out an IPv6 (2601: prefix, same Comcast network), tagged as a potential leak while IPv4 held on all three ICE points. Speed – 14.33 Mbps average across 100 proxies, median 13.3, floor 0.54, ceiling 31. The 400-proxy run: 97.8% success, 391 of 391 unique, hosting/proxy/mobile flags at zero, every address in the US, p50 780 ms and p95 1770. Byteful on microsoft.com – 100 of 100, no failures, 797 ms average, exits spread across Hollywood, Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Miramar and Hialeah. FOGLDN – OK on every proxy against google.com, most in the 520-850 ms range with roughly every seventh lagging three times behind. Billing is the sore spot: once my traffic ran out the stats section closed and left a -155.22 Mb banner, so the usage history I’d already paid for went with it.

- WebRTC leaks an IPv6 address – has to be patched by hand before any account work;
- Latency p50 780 ms and 1115 ms median on the speed run against a claimed 'under 0.5 sec';
- Usage stats disappear the moment your package hits zero, and there's no per-domain breakdown;
- 'All sales are final' with a 48-hour claim window – harsher than any top-six provider;
- The $0.6/Gb on the homepage isn't reachable on normal packages, real entry is $3.3;

Tests:
Bought US mobile proxies to run a set of long-lived social accounts. Connection dropped on Dec 31st – support fixed it in 20 minutes on New Year’s Eve. Respect. Speed showed 15-20 Mbps. But one IP was already on Spamhaus, and iphey.com threw some red flags.

IPcook launched residential publicly in August 2025 and closed out the lineup with ISP and datacenter in December, so the whole product line is about ten months old. Legal entity – HoosTag CO., Limited, Hong Kong. The landing page sells 55M+ IPs, 185+ locations and “from $0.3/GB”, so I took the cheapest real tier – 2 Gb of Basic at $3.2/Gb – and tested US residential out of Phoenix.
Tests:
The pinned sticky IP was 98.161.215.208 – AS22773 Cox Communications, hostname ip98-161-215-208.ph.ph.cox.net, AS Type isp everywhere. Scamalytics 14/100 Low Risk, IP2Location gave Anonymous Proxy No, Proxy Type blank, fraud score 0, Fixed Line ISP. MXToolbox – 0 listings out of 60. DNS clean, both resolvers Cox, though the IPv6 one sits in New York while the exit is in Arizona. WebRTC safe on all three channels, local IPv4/IPv6 not detected, Pixelscan fingerprint consistent with no proxy detected. The catch is the specialized layer: APIVoid and ipinfo both mark the address as a Residential Proxy while clearing VPN, Tor, hosting and relay. Speed – fast.com gave 12/19/19 Mbps down, 29/27/23 up, loaded latency 681-982 ms. FOGLDN: every proxy OK, but the timings split into 800-900 ms and 8000 ms with almost nothing between. Byteful on microsoft.com: 20 proxies, 80 requests, 56 through, average 3838 ms. Geo landed in Phoenix, Tucson, Tempe, Sierra Vista – accurate by state, drifting to New River within the metro. One more thing worth knowing before you buy: the 2 Gb lands on the master account, and a sub-account with a zero limit kills every request before it reaches the network with no warning anywhere.

- Slow channel – 12-19 Mbps down across three runs, with loaded latency near a full second;
- Bimodal pool on FOGLDN: half the list at 800-900 ms, the other half stuck at 8000;
- Success rate 70% on microsoft.com via Byteful – below my 80% threshold for scraping;
- Specialized detectors (APIVoid, ipinfo) flag the address as a Residential Proxy – trouble on Cloudflare and Datadome targets;

How to pick a provider for your use case
Start with the job, not the price tag.
- IP reputation is critical. Managing multiple accounts on platforms that inspect IPs, or verifying ads across regions? Residential or mobile only. A datacenter IP gets flagged before your first page load.
- Throughput is critical. Large-scale scraping where the target doesn’t check reputation – datacenter, every time. Faster and roughly twenty times cheaper per request.
- Session persistence matters. Anything that needs the same IP for hours or days means static ISP. Rotating residential will drop you mid-session and you’ll spend the afternoon re-authenticating.
- Latency matters. Trading bots, exchange APIs, real-time price monitoring, static ISP in a datacenter near your target. Residential adds 200ms+ and jitter you can’t plan around.
- Compliance matters. If legal reviews your vendors, most of this list is out. You need documented IP sourcing, GDPR and CCPA pages, and a certification. Realistically that’s Oxylabs, Bright Data, or NetNut.
One thing people get wrong constantly: paying for premium residential when a $2 datacenter IP would do. Match the tool to the target’s defences. Nothing else.

Which proxy provider is best in 2026?
Depends what you’re doing, and anyone who answers with one name is selling something. From my tests: NodeMaven for clean IP reputation it scored 0/100 on Scamalytics and passed Cloudflare without a single challenge. IPPeak if you need the pool itself to hold up at scale, with 99.8% success across 400 addresses and not one datacenter IP mixed in. NiuProxy when cost per gigabyte drives the decision, at $0.35/GB on volume with the fastest median speed I measured, 20.96 Mbps. Oxylabs when procurement needs ISO 27001 and documented sourcing. Residential vs ISP vs mobile vs datacenter – what’s the actual difference?
Four different things people keep mixing up.
- Datacenter. Server IPs from a hosting range. Fast, cheap, obvious. Any site that checks ASN will spot it instantly.
- Static ISP. Registered to a real consumer ISP but hosted in a datacenter. Residential trust plus datacenter speed, and the IP never changes. Best of both, priced per IP instead of per gigabyte.
- Residential. Real home connections, usually sourced from users who installed an app in exchange for something. High trust, slower, rotates. Billed per gigabyte and it adds up fast.
- Mobile. Carrier IPs behind CGNAT, shared by thousands of real phone users. Highest trust score available because banning one address means banning a whole cell tower. Slowest and most expensive.
Rough rule: pick the cheapest type your target won’t detect. Most people overpay by two tiers.
How do I check whether a proxy is actually clean?
Six checks, ten minutes, and they’ll tell you more than any review. Including mine.
- Scamalytics – fraud score 0 to 100. Under 10 is clean, over 30 and you’ll eat CAPTCHAs all day.
- IP2Location – look at the Anonymous Proxy flag specifically. If it says Yes, the IP is already tagged in commercial databases and the game is over.
- IPinfo – check the usage type. You want isp. If it reads hosting or business on something sold to you as residential, you were lied to.
- Pixelscan – catches the mismatch between your browser fingerprint and the connection underneath. Worth knowing that a consistent fingerprint here doesn’t clear the IP itself: two providers on this list pass Pixelscan’s fingerprint scan while the specialised engines still have their addresses on file.
- BrowserLeaks – DNS and WebRTC leak tests. Run them more than once. One provider here passes DNS cleanly across 22 resolvers and still pushes an IPv6 address out through WebRTC, which is exactly the kind of thing a single pass won’t catch.
- MXToolbox – blacklist status across 300+ lists. Non-negotiable if the IP will touch email. A Spamhaus listing kills that outright, and most residential IPs carry one by policy.
And test more than one IP. A pool can look spotless on the address they hand you first and turn out 6% flagged proxies across 400 samples. That’s a real number from a real provider on this page.
Which proxy providers are compliant with ISO 27001 and GDPR?
Short list, and it matters more than most buyers realise. If your company’s legal team reviews vendors, you need documented IP sourcing, published GDPR and CCPA terms, a DPA on request, and preferably a certification. Oxylabs holds ISO/IEC 27001:2022. Bright Data and NetNut publish full compliance documentation. IPRoyal is transparent about sourcing through Pawns.app, where users opt in and get paid.
Everyone else on this list – and that includes my number one, either doesn’t say where the IPs come from or has no compliance section at all. One of them can’t even be traced to a verifiable legal entity in open registries. For a side project, fine. For anything that goes through procurement, that silence is a hard no.
Which proxy providers accept crypto payments?
Most of the mid-tier ones now. NodeMaven takes BTC, ETH, USDT, Solana and about ten more with no KYC, starting from a $3.50 trial. Floppydata covers 70+ currencies alongside cards and PayPal. Two clauses buried in the terms almost everywhere. First, crypto payments are usually non-refundable even where card payments carry a money-back window – pay in USDT and the refund policy quietly stops applying to you. Second, one provider here inverts the usual logic: MangoProxy lets crypto through immediately but only unlocks cards after full Stripe KYC with a passport and a selfie. What is a low-latency proxy and do I need one?
A proxy where round-trip time stays under roughly 50ms and, more importantly, stays consistent. Jitter is the thing that kills you, not average ping.
You need it for exchange APIs, trading bots, real-time price feeds, and anything where a timeout costs money. Residential is the wrong tool- across the providers here the pool medians ran from 417 ms to over 1100 ms, and a US exit hitting Singapore came back at 1645 ms. Are free proxies safe?
No. Whoever operates that open port can read everything you send through it, and most of those addresses are already blacklisted anyway. If you want to test a config for five minutes, sure.
